At Thy Word
66
Luk 5:5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.
This was a profound statement made by Simon Peter to Jesus. Jesus merely told Peter to cast out into the deep and let down his nets and prepare for a draught: (1. The act of drawing). Peter didn't ask Him to clarify His statement. He didn't hesitate to do what Jesus told him to do. Why is it so hard today to do what the Lord tells us to do? Why do we so many times try and do things our own way?
Isa 1:19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:
If we are "willing" to obey we shall eat that which is good. God gives only good things to those who listen to Him and heed His word. We are so bad this day to question what God has said for thousands of years. We hear so much about how the Bible is fiction and means nothing. They have even gathered "evidence to prove" the Bible to be false. Those that say the Bible is false are under the influence of Satan himself. The Bible is true and will always be true.
Nothing that man can do will change the true Word of God. There is only one conclusion left to draw. Any other Gospel is a false gospel. Seducing spirits are everywhere. They try the patience of the believers and seduce those that are weak. I heard someone once say, "My mom is a Christian, but I'm more spiritual than she is." More spiritual than Christ? How could this be so? It's just another lie, born from the depths of hell.
Isa 1:20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
If we refuse to heed God's Word, we will be devoured with the sword. Why would this be so? Because the Lord has spoken it. God's Word is always true. I have made that statement many times over. Why not heed the Word of God today? Why not let go of the ways of the devil? Let go of the hate that devours you. Let go of the unforgiveness that is within you. Let the Lord of lords and King of kings come inside and abide with you. Heed His voice when he calls and do not delay.
Isa 1:22 Thy silver is become dross, thy wine mixed with water:
Our treasures have become as waste or rust. They are of no use to anyone, because we have refused to obey the Lord. I'm saying this in accordance to a big part of the church today. Many have mixed their wine (the gospel) with water (they ways of the world). Sweet and bitter water cannot flow from the same branch. Either something is good, or it is bad. Why not let the good in you come out and get rid of the bad?
Why don't we just decide right here and now to obey the Lord and reap the benefits of obedience through Christ? What do we have to lose if we decide to obey God? We have torment, fear, death, hell, the grave, and much more to lose. Who wouldn't want to lose these things? What does it take to obey God? A willing heart, and listening ears. God will tell you what you need to do. Will you listen?
Prayer
Father God, I thank you for your Word and what it means to me. I thank you for the plan of salvation that is freely given by you to all who will accept it. I know Lord that it is not your will that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. My prayer is that we decide in our hearts to willingly obey you and your Word. It is my prayer that the lost who hear your Word come to you in repentance. In Jesus mighty and precious name, AMEN!!!
