Come

Mat 11:28  Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

  Are you bearing a heavy burden? Jesus wants to give you rest. He will not force your hand to work nor will he force your feet to go. The word "come" is very significant in that it requires a decision and an action on your part. Lately there have been much written about freewill and freedom of choice and how there are no such things. According to Jesus' own words, there is freedom of choice. Any time a decision must be made, it is by choice.

  Mat 14:29  And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.

  Jesus will call out to you to come, but you must come on your own to Him. As stated above, the decision is yours to make. If you refuse to come, He will not force it upon you. To call out to someone to come, does not negate freedom of choice or freewill. It merely gives an option to choose from.

Mat 16:24  Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

  Here we see the word "come" once again. It still means the same thing. This is a more general statement made by Jesus Himself. He is saying that anyone who wants to come after Him, should deny their own self, take up their cross and follow after Him. He does not say to follow after everyone else. In fact he made a few statements about following others. (Joh 10:8  All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.)

  God has been trying to turn men back to Him since the fall. Men have tried every way imaginable to get to God, but most fall short and stay there. Jesus stated that He alone is the way. (Joh 14:6   Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. ) We are also warned about being carried away and tossed about with other doctrines. (Eph 4:14  That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; )

  We are warned about listening to and heeding the words of men that cause divisions. (Rom 16:17  Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.) We are taught that they do not serve the Lord Jesus but their own bellies (sounds like quite a few TV preachers today).  (Rom 16:18  For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. )

  In the end, Jesus Christ is the measure that we must measure up against. Some people say thay they are becoming the Christ in their ownselves. They deceive their self when they say this. (Mat 24:4  And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. Mat 24:5  For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.) They are trying to deceive anyone who will heed their word. They are in fact calling Jesus, "Christ," but still deceive when they preach their own doctrine.   

Rom 1:19  Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

   Anyone can know God, not by their own devices, but because God has revealed Himself to everyone. Some believe and others don't. Some point a finger at God saying He hasn't shown them. They call God a liar when they do this. (Rom 1:20  For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: ) They actually have no excuse. (Rom 1:21  Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. ) When they did know God, they did not regard Him as God and weren't even thankful to Him. Their won imaginations took over their minds and darkened their hearts. They seem to be loving and kind. They seem to be charitable, but the Word says their hearts are dark. They profess themselves to be wise. (Rom 1:22  Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, ) but in doing so make themselves out to be fools. Their true heart or intention shows. They changed the truth of God into a lie (Rom 1:25  Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.) by worshipping the creation more than the creator. Mother Earth, (also at times called goddess), has been used a lot.

  Some say they believe in Jesus but don't believe Satan is real. Satan is fine with that. He doesn't want you to believe in him. He wants you to do whatever you want to do as long as you don't come to Jesus. (Mat 7:13  Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:) The way to God is narrow and straight. It isn't an easy road to travel. There are distractions everywhere and the head is easily turned toward something else. The way to hell is broad. It encompasses everything that is not right with God. (Mat 7:14  Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. ) Not many will find the straight gate. One thing for sure that I know is that you can't find the gate if you don't come to Jesus and do it His way and not your own. He will call out to you and show you the way, but you must walk it yourself.  

Friends, the time is now. Salvation has once again knocked on your door. It is time to open the door and let Him in. Jesus will not force the door open, nor will he open it Himself. It takes a decisive act upon your part. It is my prayer that if you are not saved at this time, that you will be before it is too late.

I recall someone saying not long ago that there has been a door open wide for people to come, but that it is almost shut now. I really didn't understand that at the time, but now I do. Jesus stated, (Joh 9:4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. ) Darkness is coming and is here. Jesus went on to say that He is the light as long as he is in the world. Jesus went back to the Father and the church is now the light. Slowly the light is being hidden by laws and regulations. The darkness is coming and the door is being closed.

No one has a promise of tomorrow. Once death has taken over the body, there is no more hope. ( Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:) Judgment is coming to those who have died. Listen to the voice of Jesus. Stop listening to those demonic voices and let Him into your heart.
