Spiritual Socialism

Introduction

I recall when I was in high school reading a book titled "1984" by George Orwell. Though I can't remember minute details of the book, the general message is easily remembered. The main premise of the book was that all should be equal in all things. Those who had the ability to jump higher than others had weights put upon them to equal things out. This was done in a socailistic society.

The biggest problem with this society is that there were some who enforced the rules. When one man removed the weights from his person, he ended up being shot for daring to be different. His individuality was taken away at first, then his very life was taken.

In today's worldview, many believe that all paths lead to God. Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, Wicca, Atheism, etc. . . are all said to be the same. There had been many claims to be God or know God. Some even believe they are God. Others claim that we cannot know God at all but only guess at who or what He is. I could go on and on about different beliefs and never get to all of them. I will just go through the basic and most popular ones in this hub.

Definition of Socialism

The definition of socialism, according to Dictionary.com, a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole.

It means that everyone has an equal share in all things. This includes property, money, items needed for everyday use, etc. . . The government of a socialistic nation is in control of these things and many times are the owners instead of the people. What the government says, goes, no matter what.

Socialism on the surface seems to be a grand idea. Everyone having an equal share in everything. Everyone makes the same amount of money no matter their occupation. Likewise, spiritual socialism sounds also like a great idea on the surface. If everyone was going back to God no matter what they did or believed, things would be great it would seem.

Are all Beliefs the Same?

This is a question many have answered yes to many times. They believe no matter what you believe, their path leads to the same, place, although it is a different path than the one they are taking. They say each path is an individual choice and different people will take different paths to the same place. All I can say about that is this, "It is not a hiking trail you take to get to the top of a hill. This is serious business. Your life depends on the choices you make in this life and the next also."

We are so picky about who cuts our hair. We will find a good stylist or barber and stick with that one until they stop cutting hair. We refuse to go to someone else because we are so picky about how we want our hair done. Same goes for a mechanic and doctor. We refuse to let others touch our cars because we only like the one person to work on it. Why are we so picky about things that matter very little?

When it come to following spirits, we don't even care who or what we follow. We don't really investigate anything, we just pick a path that we like to walk and don't worry about where it is going. We come upon the truth and we trample it under our feet, because it does hurt sometimes to hear the truth or have it revealed to you.

Your Love Oh Lord

A trend?

It seems I have noticed a trend lately. The United States was founded on Biblical principles. The world doesn't like that fact and has tried to change it for a long time. It's as if the rest of the world has infiltrated the US and is changing that fact now from inside the nation. Many talk about being citizens of the world. Not many speak of being a US citizen anymore.

Many citizens of the US are growing more toward being like other nations of the world. It is actually a socialistic agenda that is being followed. Everyone should be equal in all things. Individuality should be removed. I recall reading in the Bible how Israel wanted a king because the nations around them had kings. The US is doing the same thing. They want a leader to come and take control. They want someone to make everyone equal in all things. They want the government to control aspects of their lives.

Amazing Grace

How is Christianity different from all other beliefs?

Christianity is different from all other beliefs out there. It is the only belief where it takes the grace and mercy of God to save anyone. It is the only belief where a completely innocent man was sacrificed for all who are guilty.

Many think they know Jesus but don't really have a clue as to who he really is. They equate him to Muhammad, but Muhammad was a man of war. The wars he waged were against flesh and blood. Jesus always warred against principalities and powers. It was a spiritual war.

Mithra has been equated with Jesus, Osiris, and there have been many others. In all of history, no one ever did the task that Jesus did. Not one man died an undeserving death. Jesus went into the depths of hell and preached salvation willingly. As a matter of fact, when Jesus was on the cross, He couldn't die no matter what they did to Him until he gave up the ghost and commended His spirit. Sin brings death and Jesus was sinless.

Another reason why other beliefs are different than Christianity is that we have a Savior who knows what it is like to be a man and this same man sits at the right hand of the Father making intercession for all believers. No other belief system in the world can say such a thing.

Awesome God

Conclusion

In concluding, when all beliefs are said to be exactly the same, it is a lie. It is an agenda perpetrated by no other than Satan himself. It is meant to remove righteousness and holy living. It is meant to hurt God in any way, shape, or form.

Satan is a liar and always will be a liar. Jesus said the truth is not in him. Jesus also said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father but by me."

Other religions and nonbelievers try to put weights upon those who believe in Jesus. They want to make Jesus equal to their idols or false gods. The Bible is clear in telling us to, "Cast off those weights that so easily beset us."

This is a great hub with many interesting points. I think it can start a lot of people thinking.

I have a philosophy, and I do not know how true it is, but it goes, "Your believes will actually get you what you believe, in a sense." Little problem is that the belief is may not get you to the kingdom of God," therefore you need to know the Savior and do what he wants you to do. I know this is far out and may not make sense to some.

Keep on hubbing!

The sad thing is that many will refuse to allow their eyes to be open. I have also noticed that many atheists have told believers to take responsibility. Believers in Jesus do take responsibility and confess their faults and sins. It is the Atheists who do not take responsibility.

Your statement: "They believe no matter what you believe, their path leads to the same, place, although it is a different path than the one they are taking." This reminded me of an episode on Oprah when she was claiming the same thing. A Christian in the audience attempted to clarify the difference but unfortunately Oprah's supported made it virtually impossible. But this seems to be prevalent in the New Age way of thinking. Great commentary.

RevLady, I once heard someone say that the New Age religion started with Cain. He tried to reach God his own way. We know that it didn't work.

The message at church today was about holiness and rebellion. Many have rebelled against God and esteem themselves higher than God. The Bible states, "Without holiness, no man will see God." We can only be holy by the grace of God and His holiness.

Thanks for stopping and commenting.

Sir,

Being Jewish it is not for me to comment on the Christian part. Socialistic intentions have hurt this country for years. Everyone should work for themselves mentally, not how they are told.

I think you may want to re-read 1984 because you got the wrong story. I think you may be thinking of "Harrison Bergeron," a satirical short story by Kurt Vonnegut. 1984 is much much different.

A Friend, thanks for the comment. It was along time ago that I read that book. I will check into it. I never did read Harrison Bergeron.

A Friend 2 years ago

No problem. They are both excellent stories. Harrison Bergeron is more light-hearted and satirical, in typical Kurt Vonnegut style. 1984 is super dark and super depressing, but has an excellent message. Not only can it be used to avoid potential problems that can arise in a communist government (not true communism, but rather Soviet communism and the like. Communism that has been corrupted by power. Dictatorship of the proletariat, etc), it gives a lot of insight into what can happen in any nation where the central government is given (or gives itself) too much power. For instance, the Bush administration came uncomfortably close to a society similar to that in 1984, where there is no privacy or free-thought. This is interesting, considering Bush ran on a conservative and republican platform, which typically means LESS power for the federal government, and more civil liberties. I guess this goes to show how different "republicans" and "conservatives" are today than they were.

Sorry for the unrelated rant. Bottom line is, 1984 should be required reading by everyone in the world. Harrison Bergeron is a fun and informative read as well.

Sir Dent, I commend you fro this hub. You have made a good observation of socialism and spirituality. It is true what you say about our country changing from within. Our forefathers and those whom participated in the forming of this nation are squirming in the grave and most likely astonished by what is happening today. The world is forgetting what was done way back when Lott and his wife listened to Gods spirit telling them to leave Sodom. History shall repeat until the Masters intentions for inhumanity are fullfilled. Until then we must all bear our cross and run the race best we can. Thanks brother for a reality check!Pressing on B-)

A path chosen doesn't mean it leads anywhere.....but the chosen one shall shed the light on the path that leads us to God.

Hubber Osita Ebiem (check him out) is working for justice for Biafra and wrote me that a society is doomed that thinks anything and everything is permissible. He knows there is no cost too high to defend our hard won freedom and privileges. He says any compromise of our values is worse than “striking a knife at the very center of our being”, once our way of life is taken from us. I say, May it not be! (I just wrote a hub about America Past and Present.)

The multitude of those who believed were of one heart and soul. Not one of them claimed that anything of the things which he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common
