Introduction

Almost two years ago, my family and I packed up some bags and headed to Virginia Beach. I had never seen the ocean before, so I was anxious to get there. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised and in awe of the wonderment that God had created. From our hotel room we could look out the window and see the "ends" of the ocean. The way it curved reminded me of the scripture that speaks of the circle of the Earth. It was an amazing sight to see.

We tend to take so much for granted. The Bible states that we have no promise of tomorrow and now is the day of salvation. The beauty that God created is to be seen through the eyes of man, but also through the eyes of the spirit. It is the spirit man that is the real you.

One thing that amazed me was the commitment of surfers. It was cold the day we got to the beach, but the surfers were out in the water seeking the perfect wave. The wind was blowing so the waves were actually very good.

We later learned that the day we arrived it had rained over three inches within the past twenty-four hours. This was the reason it was so cold that day, plus we went at the end of March instead of waiting for the summer. It warmed up very nicely and the sky cleared up the next day.

The surfer video below was shot from our balcony. It is not the best video but the surfer can be seen. The waves video was shot from the beach.

The Day Begins

Warm halo shows at the end of the salty water

God exhales piling the liquid in small heaps

Waves crash against the shoreline causing small puddles

They return to their origin dancing in the wind

Brightness grows glimmering as the sun goes higher

Warmth is felt as it's strength grows

Seagulls soar higher and higher

Searching for breakfast in the shallows below

Mounting upon their steeds

Surfers search for the perfect wave

Going out to ride back in

The thrill is what they seek

The sand between my toes and the wind in my face

I stroll searching for a place of peace

My favorite time of all

Is the moment the day begins.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Lifegate, I was blessed just to be able to see the wondrous works of God. That was my first time ever seeing an ocean. I appreciate the accolades but feel unworthy to receive them.
