Who Can Stand
60Who Stands Between You and the Fire?
Mat 13:41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
Mat 13:42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
This sounds like a very bad end to those who are evil and wicked doesn't it? To know that you may end up meeting this end should be enough for a person to make things right. But we're stubborn aren't we. We want things done our way and be satisfied with whatever we do. I have a short story to tell before I go on. It is a true story and I know those involved.
Two small children burned really badly in a fire. Their ages were about 3 years apart. The oldest one, for whatever reason I don't know, shielded the youngest one from the flames. He in a sense, took the brunt of the flames and burning from the other. His face is scarred really badly as is nearly all of his body. The younger one was burned also, but not nearly as bad. Mostly on his legs and stomach. The act of the older child helped the younger to not be burned as bad.
When we accept Jesus into our hearts, He stands between us and the fire. Until Jesus comes in, no one will stand between you and the fire except those who love you enough to pray fervently for you. You see, the children of God have the mind of Christ and when we pray for our loved ones, we stand in their place.
Mar 9:44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
Mar 9:46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
Mar 9:48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
Three times, Jesus said the exact same statement. Fire that is not quenched means fire that will burn forever.When the house caught fire that the children were caught in, it went out eventually. Nothing burns forever on this earth as we know it. The only fire that can burn forever is the fire of the Lord and the fires of hell. Is there a person alive who wants to go to hell?
How can one escape this fire that burns so hot and is never quenched?
Rev 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
Jesus has the keys to hell. No one else went into hell to get these keys from the devil. The only way to escape the fires of hell is to ask Jesus for the key. He gives freely to those who ask according to the Word of God.
Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
It is really rather simple. Confess your sins to God and believe that God raised Jesus from the dead and you can be saved. You would then have the key to death, hell and the grave. The time is now to come out of the pits of sin.
Isa 49:8 Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;
The scripture prophesied the time to come. There is a time accepted for salvation to come to all who will choose to accept it. God is always faithful. If He says He's going to do something, He will do it regardless of who believes or don't believe. He will not change for any man woman or child. The way was made by Him for all. The way is only one way not many.
2Co 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
The time is now here. When Jesus died on the cross, our debt was paid. We must simply tell God, "Yes. I accept your payment on my behalf." Think about what keeps you from doing this. Ask yourself, "What keeps me from grabbing hold of this awesome blessing that God gives freely to all who ask?"
Prayer
Father God, you know my heart better than I do. You know the heart of all who will read this. It is my prayer that someone be touched deeply by the Word that you gave me. I pray that someone will decide to give their heart you and accept the payment for their sins that Jesus paid. I know that it is not your will that any should perish, but I also know that you will not force anyone to come to you. They must decide for their own self. I love you Father and praise you because you alone are worthy. In the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, AMEN!!!

Great hub SirDent. I agree 100%, we indeed need Jesus to stand up for us. Once we realize we can't do it for ourselves the answer is plain, we need Jesus to stand and speak on our behalf.
Ok, I'll spell it out - Evangelist!
.....
"He stands between us and the fire". What a blessed statement! Love it.
How's it going? I'm alive and kickin', just not too high, as my Dad always said....
I'm not well, in body. It is well with my soul, though, thanks to the mercy of Jesus.
Hope you're doing well in all ways, Sir Dent.
Yes he is, everywhere I think. Well, that makes it that much easier to recognize his crap and shoo him outta the way, doesn't it?!
