A Son is Given
64
Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born,
There are thousands of children born every week in the world today. The above statement alone means nothing really. Children are born on a daily basis unto us. Children are certainly blessings, but if we search back through history, how many times can we say a son is given? There is only one instance that I know of that makes that statement.
The next part of the scripture says it all. (unto us a son is given:) A son wasn't just born unto us. He was actually given to us. The word given means just what it says. It doesn't mean to sell or trade. It requires nothing on our part to make sure the deal is done and taken care of. Imparted unto us is what it points to.
Jesus is the Son that was given unto us. He is the Word of God which came to Israel to be imparted to all the world. He is the reason we celebrate the birth of this Son. It all came about according to God's plan at just the right time. Now we should ask why God would send us a son. What would influence God to send Jesus to us? Is it because we deserve Him?
Why Was a Son Given?
In actuality, we deserve nothing good from God. We deserve to die and be punished for our sins. We have turned our backs upon Him and have not turned to Him. We have been a reproach to his name. We have added to His Word and taken away form His word for too long now. We have searched the scriptures and taken what we like and thrown away what we dislike about them. Even while in our sins, a son is given.
Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
The above scripture tells why a son is given. God so loved the world, that He gave. He gave freely without price to all people. There isn't a person who ever lived or is alive today that this son was not given to. It was done all because of love. Jesus is also the ONLY begotten Son of God. Many try to say there are other begotten Sons of God, but they all fall short. They are lies and are of their father, Satan.
What Now?
Now that we know why God gave us a Son, what must we do? We must believe in the Son. If we believe in Jesus, we shall have everlasting life. Everlasting means without end. if we do not believe in Jesus what happens to us? To perish means to be rendered useless. Do you want to perish my friend?
(and the government shall be upon his shoulder: ) He will reign over all. Death and hell could not contain Him because they had no power over Him.
(his name shall be called Wonderful) He will be marvelous among men and angels. He will be admired by many and they will be in awe of His power and authority.
(Counsellor) He will give advice and guidance. He gives purpose and intercedes for those who believe in Him.
(The mighty God) Strong and brave. Nothing can stand against Him or overtake Him. He is in complete command of everything concerning His children. He is omnipresent, omnipotent, and all powerful.
(The everlasting Father) Without beginning and without end. He is the father of those who believe in Him. He will not forsake His children but will chastise them when needed.
(The Prince of Peace. ) He is the highest ranking official of contentment, tranquility, and soundness.
So what about you my friend? Is He all these things to you? If not, he wants to be. It is time to make a decision now. Before you finish reading this, you will either accept Jesus or reject him. You may get another chance later in life to accept Him, but nobody has a promise of tomorrow.
Just as children are born daily in the thousands around the world, thousands also die around the world on a daily basis. Not all are old and worn out either. Accidents happen and people die. Only those who believe in Jesus will make it to heaven. If you have decided to give your life to Jesus there is a prayer below that you can pray if you want.
Prayer and Conclusion
Almighty God, I believe that Jesus died for my sins. I believe that He loved me enough to take care of all of them. Forgive me for all my sins and let me hold none back. Accept me into your kingdom as I accept Jesus as my Savior. Amen.
If you prayed that prayer, angels rejoice in heaven at this time. A party is going on that is unlike any party the world has ever known. I will also rejoice with you if you let me know in comments. I thank you for you taking the time to read this. One thing I am very grateful for. That is the fact that a son is given.

SirDent;
Thank you for writing this hub. I really enjoyed it. I love to read of the party in heaven when believers come to Jesus. Some day, we will be partying in heaven with them. While we may not meet on this earth (from WV to TX), I really like knowing we will meet eventually.
Thank you for your faithfulness to Him and your consistent writing to glorify Him.
